Echoes of Being

Atop a rocky Mountain
Skyward secrets – the wind whispered
Beneath a Valley abyssal – deep
I stood upon it – Ruminating
Of what I have become
And I Paused to take that Leap!

My lips Split – speaking your name
The Peaks beckoned the call
Echoing madness – I Plunged into
Unyielding was the Wall!

You were a song I sang Merrily
The echo deafened the Reality
I wished, hoped, and waited
Yet missing was the Actuality!

My Ears – heard
The echoes of a time long gone
What my Eyes couldn’t see

I swore you were there
Lingering in the spaces of the light
But really – it was only Me!

I collected your being
What my senses could gather
My salted silence grew and I –
Remembered – you were farther!

In untamed woods - I Roam
Wanting to command my own Pride
I snarl at the presence of One
Yet committing on the change of side

The mighty jungle - that I know well
Predator - yet once the Prey
Time it is - to take charge
Now standing steel grey

I am aware of the Sovereign Me
Awaits - a Majestic throne
A new territory - unclaimed
Here is the king - turned skin and bone

I trot towards my Kin
Faith of them - now restored
Their eyes convey their Desire
To see me prowl and finally Roar!

Deep down – Crusty insides
Tectonics of Me – move
Displaced – by thoughts of You
Creating deep and dark grooves!

Rocks and stones – in the core
Melt with a – Celsius rise
Prepared for an eruption
Thrusting out – a Colossal size!

It spreads over the terrain –
My scorching magma
Burning down – the things I touch
I am – merely a Toxic Alpha!

Spreading wide across
In time – I embrace – the river
In retrospect – with regret
Witnessing the Beauty I severed!

The first contact of icy water
The heat in me – subsides
Is this what I have to offer – Them
Is this the Ultimate Divide?
